HM-274 is a purge compound useful to speed transitions between colors or to prepare equipment for shutdown. It contains a combination of ingredients to flush polymer from the flow channels and mildly polish metal surfaces of colorants or other contamination. This product contains sufficient stabilization to be used as a shutdown purge. Shut-Down Purge: Before shut-down, the extruder should be cooled down and purged using HM-274 until color and contamination are no longer observed in extrudate. The extruder should be shut down with the HM-274 in the flow channels. This will prevent oxidation of the polymer in the equipment during shut-down.
