Hyflon® PFA C920-0020X is a semi crystalline, melt processable perfluoroalkoxy fluorocarbon resin specifically designed for applications where the unique properties of PFAs must be combined with antistatic performance. Hyflon® PFA C920-0020X is a low melt flow rate multi-purpose resin designed for pipe and stock shapes extrusion, compression, and transfer molding. Thanks to its low melting point, the C920-0020X offers inherent lower processing costs and can be used in a wider range of processing conditions. |

PROCESSINGAs with other fluoropolymers, Hyflon® PFA C920-0020X is corrosive in the melt. Therefore all parts coming into prolonged contact with the melt should be made with corrosion resistant materials such as Hastelloy®, Inconel®, Monel® or Xaloy®. Chrome or nickel plating is not recommended since they are typically only sufficient for brief processing tests. C920-0020X is suitable for extrusion, compression and transfer molding using techniques normally applied for other thermo-processable. Extruders should be equipped with independently controlled heaters capable of accurate temperaturecontrol up to 450°C (840°F). An overview of the processing temperatures is given in the table on the right. Drying of the pellets before use is recommended, typically at 150°C (300°F) for four hours.HEALTH SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTHyflon® PFA C920-0020X is a very inert polymer and it is not harmful if used and handled according to standard processing procedures. If handled inappropriately, it may release harmful toxic chemicals. Please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheets for more information on handling and safety.PACKAGING AND STORAGEHyflon® PFA C920-0020X resin is available in 25 kg (55 lbs) drums. Though it has an indefinite shelf life, it is recommended to store it in a clean area, protected by direct sun light and possible contamination. |
