D/W 404BNC film is skived from UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) that has been compounded with a small amount of carbon to render it black but nonconductive, producing a "windowless", truly opaque film. The carbon also provides UV resistance. D/W 404BNC is used as a wear surface where high abrasion resistance is required, such as the outer covering on hoses for severe service applications. It is also used as an anti-squeak tape for automotive and other mechanical applications. |
