Silopren* Electro 242-0 is a two-component liquid silicone rubber with a very high flowability especially developed for the economical production of large articles, like hollow core insulators or cable accessories. Due to its low viscosity Silopren* Electro 242-0 can be used in various casting processes if an appropriate metering and mixing equipment is available.

Key Features and Benefits
Vulcanisates consisting of Silopren* Electro 242-0 are distinguished by the following properties:
  • outstanding ageing behaviour and weather resistance
  • fast hydrophobicity transfer and hydrophobicity recovery
  • rapid vulcanisation
  • exellent dielectric behaviour over a wide range of temperatures
  • very good tracking and arc resistance
  • excellent flowability
  • high stability and flexibility at low temperatures
  • excellent stability to ozone and ultraviolet light
  • not readily combustible, does not melt or drip
  • easy pigmentable with LSR Color Pastes

Potential Applications
Because of the outstanding properties Silopren* Electro 242-0 is particularly suitable for the following elastomeric articles: hollow core insulators, high voltage plugs, cable connectors, fittings and terminals, suspension and long rod insulators, post line and pin insulators and surge arresters.
